The entire site has been completely renovated from the ground-up, and we now have a complete Spanish translation of the website for our spanish speaking friends. You can toggle between English and Spanish using the "english / spanish" button at the top of the website. Since we are currently in the process of migrating to the new website design, please excuse us if there are any broken links, etc. They will all be cleaned up soon!

of you had the previous feed bookmarked, please  update the URL. You can either bookmark the following URL directly:

or, you can right click on the "RSS Feed" link on the right hand side  of this page and
open the feed in a new page (or tab) and bookmark  that. Unfortunately, you cannot simply bookmark the current page you  are seeing.

We have added a “Bibliography” section to our website with a list of suggested readings pertinent to our project. Also, we’ve uploaded some minor updates on the Guatemala Radio Soap Opera project and its start dates. Last but not least, we’ve uploaded a wonderful collage video of the MACHI/Arte Acción Children’s Program currently undergoing in Honduras, by videographer Ron Reinds.

Hemos creado una sección de bibliografía en nuestra página web que contiene una lista de lecturas pertinentes al proyecto; sugerimos leerlas. También hemos ingresado información sobre el proyecto Radionovela Guatemala y su fecha de inicio. Por último, hemos colocado un video collage maravilloso del programa para niños de MACHI/ Arte Acción que actualmente se está desarrollando en Honduras. El video es del videógrafo Ron Reinds.

During the past several days, we’ve gone through a major overhaul of the website. Many pages (mostly in the MACHI Projects section) have been added and/or updated with current information. Please check them out.

The MACHI project has a new, fifth member! Christa Cesario, currently a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, will be working on the Mexico/Yucatan Puppet Show, one of the several MACHI Educational Projects that are currently underway. Find out more about the project here.

The MACHI project has a new, fourth member! Reiko Ishihara, soon to be Dr. Ishihara from UC Riverside is joining us to work on the Belize Public Outreach project this coming spring. She will work with Mr. Morvin Coc, a young Kekchi Maya gentlemen from the Maya village of Blue Creek in the Toledo District. Find out more about the project here.

Ishihara, de UC Riverside se integró a MACHI y estará trabajando con nosotros en el proyecto Alcance al Público en Belice durante la primavera. MACHI Web will have its very own domain, machiproject.org! Yay!

And so the MACHI website kicks off. The main page will be used to introduce the projects and to provide links to ongoing projects, etc. The blog page will be used by MACHI members to keep you up to date with the most current goings-on of the project.
